If our vocation had been to flood the market with fashionable products, we would have had to choose an industrial mode of production. Nothing is further from our intention. We intend to make short series and unique pieces. Sometimes it is even personalized for the client. And it is precisely the limited nature of that production that allows us to focus on another of our vocations: the maintenance of the old techniques of artisanal production, the study of the ancient ways of manufacturing that have allowed, throughout History, to create works of eternal art, each one different, each one unique.

A piece of jewellery is not a jewel until someone puts it on. It is at the moment of wearing it that it acquires its character, its true nature. The jewel, in reality, is a kind of “performance” that is established between the object and its wearer. That is why the bearer contributes, knowingly or unknowingly, half of the character of the “work.”

Nature

In the background of our work, Nature always appears in some way. Of course, an abstraction. Sometimes so sublimated that it is not perceptible, but if you ask us about the origin of the idea, it will be there.

Inspiration

Don't look for any literality. Nature is perfect and to achieve that perfection we would have to... repeat it. And that is not our endeavour. Our job is to interpret it. Reproduce in a jewel its rhythms, its cadences, its interrelationships...

Stones

Only natural and preferably without treatments. Several accredited suppliers from different countries supply us with increasingly scarce gems that in the commercial market are being replaced by synthetic materials or with treatments of dubious legality.

Workshop

The original idea was to present in the gallery one's work and that of other relevant authors from the northwest of the peninsula: Galicia, of course, but also the north of Portugal, Asturias, León,... Hence the chosen name, a word that is the same in the three languages, Galician, Portuguese and Spanish.

Collaborations

After 30 years of activity, the Noroeste Obradoiro project is expanding. From now on it opens up to new fields of contemporary craftsmanship and is completed with the work of creators of the stature of Idoia Cuesta, Celso Fereiro, Pallium, Aitor Martínez and others who will accompany us in the immediate future. Our people.

Real people, of all ages. Its attractiveness must lie, not in beauty, not in the perfection of features, but in expressiveness. A face, a figure that transmits moods. Inevitably, given the potential clients we are targeting, the majority are women, but without excluding men as a possible model on occasion.

Our philosophy

This. Ours. Or what is the same, all and none. We intend to escape from elements that are identifiable as "fashion." Clothing, the most conflictive element, can be completely current but must always have a foot in tradition. Pay more attention to function than to "fashion." A coat is for warmth.

Our place

This. Our northwest. Marine, Atlantic. End or beginning? The landscape, Nature as a background. A partial background, intuited rather than seen, but present in the entire image. Partially, because the environment should not override the human element.
